Live in or close to Philly? Fancy having yourself a fine little beercation? Visit Philadelphia for Philly Beer Week 2011 for a 10-day feast of fermentables!

Participating breweries this year are Dogfish Head, Stoudt’s, Victory, and Fegley’s. There are many venues for the events, which ones look fun to you?

This year the official celebration will be held from June 3-12 but as you can see, there are always craft beer events in the City of Brotherly Love.

Day? Evening? It’s Philly Beer WEEK! Call in sick, take vacation, quit your job and drink!!! Come on, do you really like your job that much?

All kidding aside me and my crew usually take a day to two off and crawl from interesting tap to interesting tap. We had a blast last year and met some great brewers. Hopefully this year will bring just as many new surprises. Hope to see you out there.

Haha! If we didn’t have a one and two year old we’d try to stay longer. We’re also heading to Europe (the Netherlands and Ireland) next month so gotta keep life in the budget. 🙂

I’ve never met a brewer who wasn’t down to earth, friendly, and willing to talk about what they love – BEER. Do you go out to GABF? We’re considering heading out there this year.

Love Ireland but never been to the Netherlands. If you have any interesting adventures throw them up on the blog.

As for the GABF I don’t typical do the festival thang. That’s why I love Philly Beer Week since at it’s core it is Brewers and Bars and not a bunch of booths in a convention center. I think you can connect better with the brewer and bar owner in the smaller format. Some of the stuff I learned last year I could have never learned in a crowded event hall.

I’ll definitely post here about the beer we enjoy while overseas! I have another blog where I’ll be posting all other travel-related stuff: http://www.amberdegrace.com
